Man vs. Food

Move over Howie Mandel...I've found a new favorite TV show and until television executives come to their senses and bring back "I'm With Busey", Man vs. Food will have to do. The premise is a semi-overweight man who goes to restaraunts across the country to conquer different food challenges like the 7 1/2 pound Sasquatch Burger and 15 dozen oysters. Forget grad school, I've found my new career.

The Sasquatch Burger

On another note, only three more months until the biggest day of the year for Detroit Lions fans: Draft Day. Since the Lions can't draft Chuck Long again, maybe they can find a defense.

The dude on Man vs. Food totally kills the show for me. I think he may be a bigger douche than "Guy" from Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

Because what "Guy" has in douchebaggery, he more than makes up for in the ability to laugh at him repeatedly (whether it be spiking his blonde hair, sunglasses on the back of his neck, calling certain foods "the mayor of flavor town" or saying bold dishes are "out of bounds"). The Man vs. Food dude is just a loser who can put away a lot of crap in his body. It totally takes away from what should be an amazing show. He brings out no personality, and isn't remotely interesting until he starts scarfing. If I was the director of the show, I'd be pissed. Because it's a great idea and well put together, but he sucks. I nominate Scott Coolbaugh for his position.

For what it's worth, I'll take Bobby Flay's Throwdown. Because the people he goes up against are so offended that Flay can make a cheesesteak outside of Philadelphia or a pizza outside Chicago, it makes you become Bobby's biggest fan.

Thank you for your time.

I take it you've flipped through and seen the Travel and Food Channels once or twice.

Haha, don't hate Jortz. That was like a year and a half ago.

Haha, I as well like this show. But it won't be on for too long. Eventually this guy is either going to need a triple bypass or it will be too late. It is amazing to see how much food he can actually eat. If only they applied the same idea to alcohol.
